Gig Review: Dreaming of Bedlam @ Biggins Farm 29th April 2023

Well I thought I might start reviewing some of the gigs I’ve been going to. And first up is Dreaming of Bedlam @ Biggins Farm 29th April 2023.

A few of my friends and I had an absolutely top night at this outdoor rave located in Biggins Farm nearby Accrington.

The event itself was a small affair with a single tent and a small bar. But that added to the intimacy.

I must say the atmosphere and music was top.

DJ’s playing on the night were:

  • The local legend, world class turntablist, and genral nice guy DJ Woody (a big hero and influence of mine).
  • My good friend DJ Danny Dee (who played a blinding set)
  • Jay Potter
  • El Grego & Coid
  • Matty Robinson
DJ Woody cutting some tunes

The organizers (Hadcore Uproar) did a great job on night. It was a lovely friendly crowd and some top oldschool tunes.

Highlights include DJ Woody’s set – was really interesting hearing Woody mix and cut up some house music tracks, it’s given me some idea for my own house mixes.

And Danny Dee played some of my favorite tunes. Below is a pic of me losing the plot to either “Mental Cube – Q” or “Future FJP – Liasons D”. God I love those tracks.

I also had the pleasure of talking to the site owners who were both sound and lovely (I forget your names, and sorry for chewing you ear off).

I was enjoying myself quite a bit. I didn’t stop dancing all night:)

I really hope the organizers do another event as I will certainly be attending.

More details

The organizers of the event were Hadcore Uproar who were heavily involved in the Blackburn raves around 1987-1991 (I think).

If you want more details and fancy talking tunes, raves and other smiley related things see their Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlackburnAcidHouseScene/

Keep on scratching.

  1. I remember the hardcore uproar raves in 1990. We used to travel to them from Bristol and had the best nights up there. Peace and love and acieeeeed house ☮️ ? ☺️

    • Dumbarton Tommy, the man behind this night, and the Hardcore Uproar raves, is still throwing parties now. He did this last year. But he also put on a really big event in Gisburn forest. I didn’t go but heard it was superb. Those guys know how to throw a good party. Thanks for the comment
