Well, back in June 2024 we hosted another Cut Above the Rest @ The Electric Circus in Burnley.
We rolled out the winning formulae from last time, namely myself and local scratch legend DJ Woody provided the music and the cuts.
And alongside this we had my bro and breakdancing champion mouse (plus friends) throwing down some moves to the music.
One producer I really admire is Arthur Baker. Not only did the man produce seminal works like Africa Bambaataa’s Planet Rock. But he also produced some banging acid house and classics.
The man is an electro legend.

Recently i had the pleasure of sitting down and talking to DJ Rasp (UK DMC Scratching Champion| IDA & Red Bull three-style champ).
I’d bumped into him at the Golden Lion in Todmorden, and he kindly agreed to an interview. So here it is.
Rasp has won multiple scratching championship titles and has DJ’d all over the world.
He has won eight British DJ turntablist titles, including the prestigious DMC UK championship and IDA champion honours.
And he was Red Bull three-style UK finalist.
In this video we discuss a variety of things including his start in DJ’ing and scratching, early career, early battles, DMC competitions, working with various bands, his music production, his work with Digital DJ tips and Manchester School Of Music.
